Personal Safety

Home » Victim Assistance » Jacob Wetterling Resource Center » Keep Kids Safe » Personal Safety

We are fighting for a world where children can explore past their own driveway. Here are some tips, tools and resources we have developed to help adults help the kids in their life to be able to walk around smart and not scared:

  • What If Games
  • How to Talk to Strangers
  • Talk About Touches
  • Age Appropriate Conversations
  • Empower Me
  • Talking to Children: Scary News

Personal safety should be treated just as any other safety talk with upbeat messages and consistent conversations. As your children grow and learn about seat belt safety, fire safety, bike safety and other important lessons be sure that you are also having conversations with them about the safety of their own body. All children are special and have the right to grow up free from harm.

We all win when our communities take steps together to be safer places for our children and youth. We all must find ways to be a part of the solution in making our communities aware and responsive to the needs of our kids.
