Understanding and Responding to the Sexual Behaviors of Children

Course Description

This workshop details normal and abnormal sexual behaviors of youth and offers concrete recommendations for treatment and other services for children with sexual behavior problems. How a child who has offended against others can be integrated back into a family or group setting, and when, will also be discussed.

Learning Objectives

1. Gain an understanding of normal vs abnormal sexual behavior in pre-adolescents, adolescents, and teen populations.

2. Gain an understanding of what to do when abnormal behavior is observed.

3. Learn about various causes of concerning sexual behaviors in minors.

4. Learn effective service plans for integrating a child with sexual behavior problems back into a family, school or other setting.
