Course Description

This presentation explores social media’s role as a grooming and manipulation tool, examining its efficacy in corroborating or refuting allegations for successful outcomes in the judicial system.

Learning Objectives

1. Participants will understand how social media poses specific safety risks for children and youth.

2. Participants will learn how social media evidence can be used in ICAC investigations to corroborate allegations or refute them.

3. Participants will understand how the MDT, working together, can address the social media-related aspects of a technology-facilitated crime against a young person and support the investigation.
