Direct Examination of the Forensic Interviewer & Cross Examination of Defense Experts

Course Description

This workshop equips prosecutors with strategies to prepare forensic interviewers for trial and maximize the utility and effectiveness of their testimony. Attendees will learn how to construct the direct examination of a forensic interviewer, with an emphasis on forensic interview admissibility considerations and how interviewer testimony sets up the cross-examination of defense experts. The presentation concludes with ten areas for cross examining defense expert witnesses.

Learning Objectives

1. Develop appropriate, effective lines of questioning for the direct examinations of forensic interviewers. 2. Understand and apply ten areas of potential defense expert witness cross examination. 3. Articulate multiple avenues of forensic interview admissibility.
