Ms. Zahann Nelson is bilingual in Haitian Creole and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and International Studies and has been in Victim Services for several years. Previously, Ms. Nelson worked for several non-profits organizations in New York as a Victim’s Advocate providing crisis intervention and short term counseling within the criminal justice system. By utilizing a trauma informed lens, she places an emphasis on the client’s needs and understanding that trauma is multilayered. Ms. Nelson has experience collaborating with local police, other social services organizations, and court systems to advocate on behalf of her clientele. She is certified in Mental Health First Aid and the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale.
