Shannon is a proud victim advocate with over twenty years of experience serving victims and victim assistance providers, managing high-profile national initiatives, and providing training and technical assistance. She holds a Master’s Degree in Ethics and Society and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. Shannon has held positions at numerous non-profit organizations, worked for the Office for Victims of Crime’s Training and Technical Assistance Center (OVC TTAC), and most recently, served as Project Manager for the FBI’s Victim Services Division (VSD). Her expertise in sexual violence prevention and response includes building the capacity of law enforcement, corrections, and medical personnel to more effectively serve victims of crime. At the FBI, Shannon ran a five-year initiative aimed at improving federal agencies’ response to victims of sexual abuse and sexual assault in tribal nations, led numerous VSD projects, and recently served as Associate Director of OVC’s Federal, International and Tribal Division on a one-year detail assignment. She is grateful for her wonderful friends and family, members in her Group Exercise classes at Gold’s Gym, that the Nebraska Cornhuskers are on an upswing, and for hikes in Acadia National Park.
