About

Expert Witness at Trial

experiential training

This two-day course is designed for prosecutors who handle child abuse cases and struggle with presenting evidence related to the science of trauma. The course addresses the challenge of presenting child victim’s behavior to juries who believe the child but struggle to understand their behaviors or the science of trauma.

The course will provide insight into the types of expert witnesses that can assist the prosecution and strategies for presenting this testimony. Attendees will learn how to identify the most effective expert witnesses for their case and how to prepare and present their testimony in a compelling manner.

The experiential component of the course will allow attendees to practice crafting and delivering direct examinations of experts. Attendees will receive feedback from Zero Abuse faculty, which will help them improve their examination techniques and become more effective in presenting expert testimony in court.

Dates of the next course offerings are still to be determined. Interested prosecutors can join the waitlist below to be notified when more information is available.
